Game of the Month – May 2025 3m4j3a

Oh Things in Rings, what a wonderful game/With strings and cards and rules not too tame. 551e38

After careful deliberation, the Mind Games Game of the Month for May is Things in Rings! This hilarious word-association party game is perfect for players of all ages, and brings some whimsical, Seuss-ical fun to your game nights.

There are cards that will ask you for ‘things that can sing’/
Or ‘things you could never bring to a king!’

Things in Rings is deceptively simple to play. Set up the Rings on your table so they look like a Venn diagram. One player is the ‘Knower’ The Knower knows the rules each ring follows – any items placed within that ring must follow the rules. These rules could be anything, like ‘must contain the same letter twice’ or ‘can be found in a house’. Players then attempt to figure out these rules, placing cards inside the rings, whilst the Knower facilitates by ensuring that the cards fit the rules, and removing them if they don’t. Cards can also be placed in the overlapping sections – when placed here, they must follow the rules of both rings.

Then each player scurries to find such a thing/And pop it in place in the proper-sized ring!

Things in Rings  is the perfect ‘thinky’ party game whilst still being unrepentantly silly. Each card features gorgeous, Dr Seuss-inspired art, and the simple mechanics ensure that this game is oodles of fun for the whole family, even the youngest . Game of the Month – April 2025 684l4r

Raucous Raccoons Readily Rummage Through Refuse in this Rambunctious Romp of Revelry

Keep the kids entertained these school holidays with Mind Games’ Game of the Month! For April, we’re highlighting a staff favourite – Trash Pandas.

In Trash Pandas, each player is a raucous raccoon, searching for food and shiny objects by tipping over garbage bins. Players are competing for the most points, with each point acquired by cleverly ‘stashing’ cards. On their turn, players roll a die to determine their available actions – such as drawing a card, stashing a card, or stealing from another player. After every roll, the player can choose to end their turn – a wise decision, since if you roll the same action twice, you lose everything you gained on that turn!

Trash Pandas is an adorable, lightweight family game for 2-4 players which only takes 15 minutes to play. It combines set collection and push-your-luck mechanics, and is a highly enjoyable romp for adults and kids alike.
